You need to proper diagnosis for the same. Make sure all the fans are working properly before starting the below guide :-
\015\012It's not cool
If the refrigerator isn't cool, you need to answer some questions, then see if the compressor is running.
First, answer these questions:
- Is the refrigerator completely dead? If so, see “It's stopped completely.”
- Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? If not, reset it.
Next, see if the compressor motor is running
The\015\012compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It's\015\012on the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If it\015\012is humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is still\015\012not cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more of\015\012several different components, we recommend contacting a qualified\015\012appliance repair technician for further help.
If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these:
\015\012The overload, relay, or capacitor
\015\012The defrost timer
\015\012The condenser fan motor
and if you find that the cooling is BAD, you need to check :-
\015\012\015\012\015\012\015\012Poor\015\012cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator\015\012coils or a condenser that is clogged with dust, lint, and dirt.
\015\012\015\012Poor\015\012cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator\015\012coils. You can't see these coils without removing a panel on the inside\015\012of your freezer. A sure sign that there is a build-up is the presence\015\012of any frost or ice build-up on the inside walls, floor, or ceiling of\015\012the freezer. Such a frost build-up usually indicates a problem in the\015\012self-defrosting system or damaged door gaskets.
The refrigerator\015\012is supposed to self-defrost approximately four times in every 24 hour\015\012period. If one of the components in the self-defrosting system fails,\015\012the refrigerator continues to try to cool. Eventually, though, so much\015\012frost builds up on the evaporator coils that the circulating fan can't\015\012draw air over the coils. There may still be a small amount of cooling\015\012because the coils are icy, but with no air flow over the coils, cooling\015\012in the refrigerator compartment is quite limited.
Here's an\015\012inexpensive, though inconvenient, way to determine if the problem is\015\012with the self-defrosting system. Remove all of the perishable food from\015\012the refrigerator and freezer, turn the thermostat in the refrigerator\015\012to Off, and leave the doors open for 24 to 48 hours. (Be sure to have\015\012several towels ready in case the melting frost and ice causes the drip\015\012pan to overflow). This allows the refrigerator to defrost "manually."\015\012When the frost and ice build-up has completely melted away, turn the\015\012thermostat back to a normal setting. If the refrigerator then cools\015\012properly, it indicates a problem with one of three components in the\015\012self-defrosting system:
- The defrost timer
- The defrost thermostat (also called the bi-metal switch)
- The defrost heater
If\015\012it still does not cool properly, there may be a problem with the\015\012refrigerant level or the compressor. You may need to consult with a\015\012qualified appliance repair technician to further diagnose the problem
\015\012\015\012Self-defrosting\015\012refrigerators all have a set of coils and a cooling fan, usually under\015\012the refrigerator, that need to be cleaned regularly. If these coils get\015\012coated with dust, dirt or lint, the refrigerator may not cool properly.\015\012The coils may appear to be a thin, black, wide radiator-like device\015\012behind the lower kick-panel. To clean them, disconnect the refrigerator\015\012from the power source, use a refrigerator condenser brush (see the\015\012Appliance Accessories section) and your vacuum cleaner to clean the\015\012coils of any lint, pet hair, etc. You may not be able to get to all of\015\012the condenser from the front, it may be necessary to clean the\015\012remainder of the condenser from the rear of the refrigerator.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

GE side by side refrigerator, freezer is ice cold and the fan works. The refrigerator side does not seem to be getting cold. It is only cool no matter where I place the control for the freezer or the refrigerator. No ice blocking the air flow, but I don't feel the cold air blowing from Freezer to the refrigerator.
So the fan works on the inside of the freezer correct because this is what pushes the cold air into the refrige side if the fan is working properly then you would have most likely a defrost problem associated with one of two things you would need to ...
