Having problems with your Refrigerators ?

Error code "-" on refrigerator side. Refrigerator side will not maintain temperature, instead cycles from 38 degrees up to 65 degrees and back down every few minutes to an hour. I have been trying to get this refrigerator to operate properly for the past 2 months and have spent about $400 for parts and labor without any resolution. I am completely frustrated and do not want to spend any more money unless it is just a very little bit and we do manage to solve this problem.

Error occurs and is displayed when regarding the R compartment defrosting heater, there is an electric wire cut, short-circuit, contact failure, sensor housing missing, or defective temperature fuse. A defect is
\015\012displayed if defrosting is not finished after continuous heating for more than 70 min, for the R compartment.
\015\012
\015\012Most all of the above are related to the evaporator and the Adaptive Defrost Control.

\015\012Possible causes are Items 38 and 39 of this link:

\015\012Item 38 is the thermostat and Item 39 is the sensor.
\015\012Item 38 sends the signal to the control board that 60 Deg F has been reached and to terminate the defrost cycle. Item 39 will also do the same thing via a second circuit.
\015\012Per the service manual there are 2 thermistors and 2 thermostats in both the freezer compartment and the freezer compartment. Any of these thermistors or Bi-metal themostats can cause the fault your seeing.

\015\012This is alll defrost circuit related.

\015\012The only way to troubleshoot is by opening the evaporator accesses and reading them with a meter.

\015\012Having said all of that.... as an in home appliance repair tech, I really believe you have a valid CALL BACK for unfinished repair service.

\015\012I will tell you that as a technician that call backs occasionally happen (2 or 3 times a year) but... the shop eats the labor and the service call because WE failed to correct the original complaint. We would only charge for the additional parts. In this case I think the most expensive part you might have to purchase is just over $22.00. I can understand your frustration. I really believe you have a valid call back unfinished service complaint here.

\015\012I would recommend you contact the service company and give them the details. I would quote repair invoice numbers when I made the call with the original compaint that STILL is not corrected.

Very strange, sounds like some major problems still at work here. Nothing about this will be too inexpensive I assure you. So it sounds like you did have a service person previously repair this unit, when you say you have spent money on labor costs... Why not call that same person and tell them it is still having issues? They should be obligated to fix it under the same service...
