Having problems with your Refrigerators ?

I have a GE Profile PSS26NG side by side stainless fridge the artica dispenser for ice and water has lost all power, can you help.

This is not an easy fix. You will have to try and remove the ice maker to gain access to the power conductors feeding up to the ice maker unit. Remove any screws that look like they are holding the unit in place. I can not give you exact screw by screw instructions. There are so many models and they all are a bit different. Try to pull the unit out where you can access the plastic connectors that bring power and control to the unit. Unplug and replug connectors back in. This sometimes restores power.
HI. I am assuming that when you typed (LOST ALL POWER), you are referring to a no power state with the entire refrigerator unit. If this is the case. I recommend inspecting the power cord for lose fit and connection points at the junction section on the back side of your unit. After you have confirmed that the unit is receiving full power from the power outlet, this will confirm that the main control board has failed, and it should be replaced asap.

Now, if the unit is working and cooling/freezing properly, but the ice maker and dispenser are not producing ice and water, this will lead to a faulty inlet valve assembly.

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors

Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush
or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

My refrigirator Frigidaie FRS26H7CSBO started by not making any ice,, then made ice but put to much water that the water came from the ice maker into the door and now the freezer and fresh food side don't cool any more. The water tube in my GE (side by side refrig) ice maker keeps freezing. When the ice tray does not get the water, it calls for more. the water ends up spraying all over the inside and freezing because the tube keeps freezing up. If I take the tube out once a day I can sometimes prevent this. I can never leave the ice maker on for extended periods of time. I have lowered the freezer temp and reduced the water feed to try and help but this has not helped.

Frigidaire Side by Side water and ice issue! Ice keep getting frozen to back of the top mounted ice maker, which leads to ice forming on the top shelf of freezer. With my GE GSS25SGPSS side by side ref...whenever I press the "water" button and tilt the cup in the dispenser...after a couple of seconds the "water" button will automatically which to the "Ice" button (without touching any button) then the dispenser will shoot out Ice instead of the water. I have a GE ZISS360DRJSS side by side fridge. The water is not dispensing from the door. It makes ice without any issues. I changed the water filter which did not help. I turned off the entire fridge/freezer overnight in case it was frozen water line, the same problem remains. Also, frost forms in the ice dispensing chute.
